A Mailbox Quota, also referred to as storage limit or mailbox size, is the amount of space applied to a specific mailbox or Mail Account, e.g. [email protected]. It indicates the exact volume of emails that your mailbox can save.
You will know that your mailbox has exceeded its Mailbox Quota or storage limit when your incoming mails start to bounce back to their sender, as a result to having been rejected by the system. Plainly, your mailbox can no longer receive any email while it is full. So, how do you fix it? This article will guide you how to increase your storage limit of your mail account via Plesk.
How To Increase Your Mail Account's Mailbox Quota
To make sure that you receive all your incoming mail, we advise that you increase your Mailbox Quota. You can do this via Plesk by following the instructions below:
- Access your Hosting Manager.
- Click Mail from the left-side menu.
A list of all Email Addresses created in Plesk will appear.
- Click on the Email Address whose storage limit you wish to increase.
- On the Mailbox section, you can select any of the two options:
- Default size (Unlimited)
This option sets your Mailbox Quota to the maximum limit allowed by your hosting plan.
- Another size
This option allows you to enter a specific number in the field provided.
Note: You cannot set a Mailbox Quota that exceeds the limit of your hosting space. Also, because of certain mail server limitations, you cannot set a quota that exceeds 4096000 megabytes (4TB or 4096 GB). If you want to set a quota which exceeds that number, you can simply select the Default size (Unlimited) option.
- Click OK at the bottom of the page.
A confirmation message will appear indicating that you've successfully saved your settings.
Any changes to your Mail Account will automatically take effect.
