Every Domain Name registered at Crazy Domains comes with a free standard DNS, which includes standard DDoS protection and full control of the following records:
- A Records
- MX Records
- CNAME Records
- AAAA Records
- CAA Records
- IPv4/IPv6 Support
For the purpose of this article, we will cover Name Servers and the most common records you’ll encounter when setting up a website and your own email, namely: A Record, CNAME Record, and MX Record.
Manage Name Servers
The key role of Name Servers is to translate domain names into a corresponding IP address. Your Domain Registrar, or where you registered your domain name, is where you can set your Name Servers. Your Hosting Provider's job is to provide you with the correct Name Servers to set. This is not necessary if your Domain Registrar and Hosting Provider are the same.
Remember that an inaccurate Name Server will lead to errors and a dead end. It is reasonable to make sure that you are using the correct Name Servers. To check, refer to the table below:

- Contact your website Hosting Provider.
- Get the appropriate Name Servers.
- Update your domain's Name Servers through the Account Manager.
Note: Since you are using your external hosting provider's Name Servers, any changes to your DNS should be done through your Hosting Provider's control panel.

After making sure that your domain's Name Servers are correct, you can refer to the table below for a short description of the three most common records:.
||This is an address record, which matches your domain name to an IP address.
||This is a canonical name record, which matches your domain name to an alias. It is useful if you are running a server besides Apache, such as an FTP server or a separate port.
||This is a mail exchange record, which matches your domain name to a list of servers that handles mail for your domain, tagging each with a priority and with the highest priority being 0.
You can manage your DNS through the cPanel for regular hosting and Plesk for Windows hosting. Follow these initial steps to access either cPanel or Plesk:
- Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.
- Select Hosting Manager from the drop-down menu.
- Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
Once logged in, you can proceed with the necessary steps to manage your DNS as follows:

To add an A Record, CName Record, or any of the available DNS record types except MX:
To add an MX Record:
- Click Domains or the [v] arrow symbol beside it.
- Click on the Advanced Zone Editor icon.
- Under Type, select the DNS record type you wish to add.
- Enter the required record values in the field provided, and click Add Record.
- Click Email or the [v] arrow symbol beside it.
- Click on the MX Entry icon.
- Click Select a domain and choose the domain whose record you wish to manage.
- Scroll down to the Add New Record section and specify the Priority and Destination of your record.
- Click on the Add New Record button once done.
To add any of the available DNS record types:
- Click Websites & Domains from the left-side menu.
- Scroll down to locate the domain name whose DNS you wish to manage and click DNS Settings from the list of options found under that domain.
- Click on the Add Record button found at the top.
- Select a Record type from the drop-down list beside it.
- Enter the necessary record information in the fields provided and click OK to save.
DNS Records are applied immediately but may take up to 2 hours to propagate across the Internet. If you have created your DNS Records and have seen no change, please wait for this propagation. Otherwise, it is advised that you contact our 24/7 support.
